So, I have a new "header" to my blog which is a conglomerate of information which tells all about me. Just because I know that you're dying to know... :-) Here's the explanation:
First off - "Dr. Suzie" - I'm a doctoral student through Capella University in Reading and Literacy. I hope to be finished in June, 2015. My family has been calling me "Dr. Suzie" since I began the adventure in 2010 because they're just awesome. They're my number 1 fans which is what has kept me going throughout the whole very stressful process.
The notebooks and notepads are pretty self-explanatory. Between doctoral studies, teaching, and my 13 year old daughter, Gabby, being an artist, my house is full of them.
I cannot survive with out my iPhone - who can? :)
I am incorporating teaching more with technology this year. Our school was given 30 iPads for each grade level, so that's why the "iTeach" iPad is there.
The sunglasses and flip flops show mine and my family's love for the beach and for our hometown state of South Carolina with the Palmetto Trees on the flip flops.
HK (Heckler & Koch) is a type of firearm - the best. My husband and I are FFL (Federal Firearms License) holders as well as Class 3 dealers (suppressors, full auto, etc.) and we shoot all the time teaching a respect for firearms as well as self-defense tactics.
On the FFL note, my husband, Jonathan - former Marine and Army Soldier, and I also own our own firearms training and gunsmithing business - J.L. Custom Arms, LLC. Check out the website: http://www.jlcustomarms.net
Our family also consists of 2 pit bulls who may as well also be our children - Raider and Benelli which is why the dog looking guilty with the bone is pictured.
My BFF who teaches across the hall from me and I cannot survive without coffee, thus the coffee cup and my daughter decided that my trademark logo should be superwoman (this made me tear up coming from a 13 year old!), so thus the pink logo was born. :)
With all the work and coffee laid out on the table as it is in the picture, it wouldn't be complete without my favorite dessert - PIE! Key Lime Pie to be exact.
So, that's me in a nutshell.
What's not pictured is that I have been married for 15 years to an amazing man. We have one daughter, her best friend whom her mom and I joke is also part of the family (as my daughter is part of theirs), our two pit bulls, a ball python, and a corn snake. We live out in the country and love it. This is my ninth year teaching. I have taught fifth, fourth, second, second single-gender girls, and third grades. This year I will be teaching my favorite grade - THIRD GRADE. :)

Where is Mrs. Larsen's Class?
I really would like to place this outside my door. Maybe on a ribbon and place a clip where appropriate: (Click the picture for the file)
